Hello, farmhoppers!
About “The Wild Farm”
We are Niki, Bety and Stefan, the owners of The Wild Farm. We have been farming since 1994 when we bought a herd of 50 sheep, 3 cows, a horse and a dog. At present our farm has grown considerably to 500 heads of cattle, 50 beehives, 30 Karakachan sheep, a few horses, geese and dogs.
We called our farm “The Wild Farm” because of its location. It is situated in one of the most beautiful and wild regions of Southern Bulgaria, the village of Gorno Pole in the Eastern Rhodope Mountains. Ivaylovgrad dam and the border with Greece are nearby.
Our mission
We are on a mission to preserve these unique domestic breeds by following the principles of sustainable and responsible farming. We aim to produce high-quality organic food for the future and present generations.
To the farmhoppers who want to eat good, ethically produced food and to know exactly where it comes from, we give the opportunity to visit our farm, to see how everything is produced and experience the practical side of traditional farming.
You are welcome to visit us!
Our guest house offers 4 cozy double rooms. We also have a beautiful ethnic style tavern with a fireplace and a lovely garden pavilion with an astonishing mountain view. In our farm you could:
- taste delicious domestic specialties;
- learn to cook unique Bulgarian dishes;
- learn how to milk a cow or a sheep;
- how to collect honey;
- how to make yogurt;
- how to ride a horse and many other great activities from our daily farm life.
*They haven't presented yet documents concerning their Feed Law registration.
