Fruit & Vegetables
Our farm exists from 2009. We grow organic vegetables, fruit and walnuts. We try to provide as wide assortment as possible to our customers. When growing fruit and vegetables we apply the principles of organic farming which contributes for the high quality, healthy and delicious harvest. The seeds we use are a product of a long term natural selection from bulgarian sorts.
For tens of years every autumn our parents had carefully gathered and preserved during the winter the seeds and as they passed them through the generations, now we have the opportunity in the spring to plant the original bulgarian sorts of vegetables again and again. At the moment Organic Farm "Sofina" extends over 83 acres of land. On it we grow mainly seasonings and vegetables - from dill, bassil, cilantro and parsley to cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, cabage, zucchini, eggplant, broccoli and many others.
We also grow strawberries, raspberries, french grapes and fruit trees, walnuts, hazelnuts, apples, pears, cherries, plums which for now don't have a lot of production.
Being certified for organic production suggests following strict requirements according which chemical manure and substances are absolutely forbidden.
This is why we aim towards ecological balance - in our farm we have ladybugs, beetles, ants, worms, frogs which regulate the environment our plants grow in a very natural way. The soil is fertilized with organic humus processed by california worms and manure.
Since Sofia is so close to us, we offer a fresh delivery on the address that has been pointed by the customer - the vegetables you ordered will be cut in the day of delivery which guarantees 100 % preservation of the product's qualities. The farm is happy to welcome every visitor including families with children - everybody is welcome during the open days dates or during solidarity actions to come and spend some wondeful time in the farm.
